This is very stressful to listen to.
Cool, thanks
Great consideration. Thank you.
Goldwyn was a legend
Among my very favorite songs. Thanks, gents!
I wish it was still available to watch..
Where I fell in love with hime as an actor.
Barbra was cast long before Kanin came into the picture. And according to Barbra and others he was a lousy director and ended up being replaced by Jerome Robbins who improved the show immensley.
Totally agree with the comments of Newest
I also read Shirley McClaine was asked. She and Barbra were friends - supposedly they just looked at each other and rolled their eyes.
They’re talking about Bells Are Ringing, a musical romantic comedy written for their dear friend Judy Holliday. It’s a warm, very tuneful and funny show that’s easy to enjoy.
Lost in Younkers was absolutely brilliant.
I wonder if he ever realized how great this song is. It speaks of the lowest in society. When performed correctly it should be heart breaking.
I saw this performance in 1987 and it has stayed with me all these years. Wonderful.
the story is based on Pushkin's little tragedy
the movie scene was perfect

He describes the current london production...and it's contextualising of the song...
SIMON is one of the greatest playwrights of all time!!!!
Thank ypu for posting. Is this Wilson?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
He was 55 no ?! 1911,, 1966
No - Miller was likely referring to the original 1949 stage production on Broadway, perhaps even earlier readings or productions because in 1949 he would’ve been 38 or so
@@rhythmfield Oh thanks , i understand now
I saw the first performance of Holy Ghosts at ECU in 1971. And, I first met Romulus in 1987 at the VCCA. Many years later in 2009, I wrote an opera based on this play, Holy Ghosts. Knowing Romulus was one of the highlights of my personal and professional life. There was no one else like him. He was the real thing.
I've known a few kids who had lots of experiences and thoughts! However, lack of ability to wax nostalgic about how they were affected and shaped by their lives makes them less relatable, I suppose. After all, experience is subjective and changes as we age and view it from a new perspective. It is that which makes us wise, and hopefully, interesting!
It's nice I used to role play, make my mother be Arthur Miller, in conversation in 1969. It was only a name to me - I was a young 11 - but my parents might have appreciated me less by then.
Mama Malone was great but NBC set it up to fail . The show needed to be on Saturday nights .
It was on CBS after one day at a time
CBS delayed it 2 years. It was supposed to debut Fall 1982, but CBS aired the new sitcom "Filthy Rich" instead (which was Linda Bloodworth-Thompson's 1st created sitcom. It was a pre-Designing Woman that mocked Dynasty).
I prefer the original stage version over the newer versions as far as this scene goes
Neil Simon was a genius. No question about it.
I loved it
Robin diangelo strikes me as a 21st century abigail williams, the same painful question begging and tautology to her logic, the same shifting of the burden of proof, the same unctuous , self righteousness in accusing others.
What a subversive, communist hack.
Absolute Legend .
I like that scene, too.
There is humor if you know where to look but the Bible is mainly a history book, it's purpose is more than just to be funny.

November 13, 1914. The day that my paternal grandmother turned 28.
I watched it last night. What a beautiful and heartbreaking movie. Now a favorite.
What a guy! Talks like he writes. "Six Degrees of Separation" is a masterpiece of theater.
Liza,Fred and John all fortunate to have each other brilliant trio!
Excuse my ignorance, but what show are they talking about? Was it the very short-lived Flora the Red Menace?
Frederick was Napoleon's hero, and Patton's too. At least according to the film with George C Scott.
Well, he was my university assignment on American Theatre I chose Neil Simon with specific emphasis on the odd couple.
1:00 It ended sooner here bc (then Europe) bc there wasn’t that strong a government here
1:20 “You never mentioned it before…Well I didn’t know it before…But now I remember it…And how she cursed me…AND THIS STUFF GOIN ON IS STILL GOING ON. You know the suggestibility in people’s minds is fantastic.
0:00 Well there are other things now...
3:40 There was no way to gather opposition to this lunacy, without being incriminated
3:50 "It destroyed Salem"
One problem - Witches don't exist, but at the time of "McAthyism", about three fourths of the worlds population lived under brutal communist rule. Communists are real and very active in American. Today, communism is taking over America. This interview better explains today's cancel culture.
Love him.
It was my distinct honor and pleasure to play drums and percussion for these two great ladies at every performance of the Rink ( minus one mandatory performance using a sub ). I am so heartened to hear John Kander say that he felt it was one of his & Fred Ebb’s best shows, because I agree wholeheartedly! …Neil Capolongo
